Student & Guardian Safety Notice: Morning Drop-Off and Pedestrian Safety Guidelines
Posted Date: 9/12/25 (8:14 AM)
Dear Panther Students, Parents and Guardians,
As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, we are issuing this important reminder regarding morning drop-off procedures and pedestrian safety around our school campus.
No Drop-Off on Turkey Lake Road
Please be advised that Turkey Lake Road is not a designated drop-off zone. Dropping students off along this busy corridor creates significant safety hazards and contributes to traffic congestion. All student drop-offs must occur in the designated school loop or parking areas.Pedestrian Safety
Students walking to school must use marked pedestrian crosswalks. Crossing mid-block or outside of designated areas puts students at risk and disrupts traffic flow. We urge all families to reinforce safe walking habits with their children.U-Turns and Abrupt Stops
We’ve observed an increase in illegal U-turns and sudden stops near the school entrance. These actions:- Endanger pedestrians and other drivers
- Cause traffic delays
- Increase the risk of accidents
✅ Tips to Improve Safety and Reduce Tardiness
To help ensure a smooth and safe start to the school day:- Leave 5–10 minutes earlier to avoid peak traffic congestion.
- Use designated drop-off zones only.
- Encourage carpooling or walking groups where safe and feasible.
🛡️ Safety Guidelines from OCPS
- Orange County’s Vision Zero initiative includes raised crosswalks, improved lighting, and pedestrian barriers to protect students near school zones. [Orange Cou...Seriously]'
